Boy with autism reunited with family after found wandering on expressway

CHICAGO – Illinois State Police were able to reunite a 10-year-old boy with autism with his family.

Jordan Smith was found on the Eisenhower Expressway near Ashland around 5 p.m. Monday during the evening rush.

Illinois State police responded to a call, picked up Jordan and brought him to the hospital to be checked out.

Jordan identified himself by name, which helped police contact his grandmother.

His grandmother was located after several hours and was reunited with Jordan.

Police are trying to learn how he wandered over to the expressway.
