CHICAGO -- They're cooking up more than food today at a school in the Englewood neighborhood.

The Academy of St. Benedict the African is having a barbecue to thank officers from the department's 7th District for trying to keep students and staff safe in the often violent neighborhood.

The event began with a prayer circle and blessing of police officers, students, school families and community.
