Crowds fill Navy Pier for annual fireworks show

CHICAGO — Chicago’s Navy Pier reached capacity about an hour ahead of the annual Fourth of July fireworks show.

Navy Pier tweeted around 8:30 p.m. that all entrances were closed.

Chicago police had an increased presence along the lakefront, along with plain clothed officers among the crowd.
