CHICAGO –  Police say a suspect after an hours long standoff on Chicago’s Northwest Side.

Police say the incident stemmed from an armed robbery in the 2700 block of North Milwaukee around 11 a.m..  Neighbors say it was a phone store that was robbed by a gunman who ran into a nearby building.

Police say the gunman went into a three story residential building in the 3200 block of W Diversey.

At 7:15 p.m. police reported that an offender was located, taken into custody and charges are pending.  Police will not say where he was located however.

The FBI was on hand to assist Chicago police.

Diversey and Kedzie were both closed near Spaulding during the standoff.

No word on the age of the suspect.
