GARY, Ind. -- A multi-vehicle accident killed one person and injured three others in Gary, Indiana.

A semi-tractor trailer and a medical transport bus crashed at 4th Avenue and Rutledge Street on Tuesday morning.

A passenger in the medical vehicle, 57 year-old Kathy Flowers, of Gary, was killed. Two other people in the medical bus were injured, as was the semi-driver.

Witnesses say the semi-truck wasn’t speeding, tried to stop, and had a right of way without a stop sign.

The Lake County Sheriff's Department will be doing the crash reconstruction and the Gary Police Department will handle all other investigative aspects.
