UIC hopes to become site of Obama library

CHICAGO — The University of Illinois at Chicago is getting an $8 million grant to develop anti-smoking programs.

Researchers are working to reduce tobacco use in poor and middle-income countries like Bangladesh, China, India and Pakistan.

UIC is one of seven health organizations worldwide that are taking part in the Bloomberg initiative to address the growing rates of tobacco use.
