The Taliban launched a surprise assault on a military base in Afghanistan.

Afghan officials say more than 100 army personnel were killed or wounded.

Ten attackers were disguised in army uniforms when they stormed the compound in military vehicles.

Two suicide bombs exploded. The other eight attackers were killed in a gun battle.

The assault happened during Friday prayers inside the base’s mosque.
