CHICAGO -- The legal battle over funding between Chicago Public Schools and the State has wrapped up in court on Wednesday.

The judge will issue a ruling on April 28th at 2:30pm.

CPS argues the civil rights of its students are being violated due to discriminatory funding.

The State insists the legislature should handle appropriations.

CPS says the school year may have to end on June 1st instead of June 20th if the state doesn’t come through with funding. That would save CPS more than $90 million.
