10PM CDT Update: Severe Thunderstorm Watch 138 expires

Update 10PM CDT…

The Severe Thunderstorm Watch number 138 has expired. There are a few isolated light showers/thunderstorms in northwest Indiana, but all are weakening as they move east out of the Chicago area.

Update 9:30PM CDT…

Ford, Iroquois, Kankakee, Counties in northeast Illinois and Lake and Porter Counties in northwest Indiana have now been dropped from Severe Thunderstorm Watch number 138. The Severe Thunderstorm Watch continues in Benton, Jasper and Newton Counties in Indiana until 10PM CDT (check the shaded counties shown on the highlighted map).

Update 7:30PM CDT…

Cook, DuPage, Grundy, Kendall, Livingston and Will Counties in northeast Illinois have now been dropped from Severe Thunderstorm Watch number 138. The Severe Thunderstorm watch continues for Chicago-area counties well south of Chicago in Illinois and those in northwest Indiana (see shaded counties on highlighted map).

Update 6:45PM CDT…

DeKalb, Kane, LaSalle and Lake Counties in northeast Illinois have now been dropped from the Severe Thunderstorm Watch number 138. The Severe Thunderstorm Watch still continues for a good portion of the Chicago area until 10PM CDT (see shaded counties on highlighted map).

Update 5:30PM CDT...

The cold front and associated band of strong to severe thunderstorms continues to make progress east with the Severe thunderstorm Watch for much of the Chicago area continuing until 10PM CDT.

The following northeast Illinois counties are considered no longer a threat for severe storms and are no longer under the Severe Thunderstorm Watch…Boone, Lee, McHenry, Ogle and Winnebago Counties (check highlighted map for current Watch coverage).
