ELMWOOD PARK, Ill. -- A man was killed in a shootout at a gas station in Elmwood Park, in front of several children.

The shooting happened just before 5 p.m. Saturday, at the BP gas station at 75th Court and Grand Avenue.

Police say someone walked up to 43-year-old Ronald Morales and started shooting, and then Morales fired back.

There were three children in the back seat of Morales' car, but none of them were hurt.

Neither were any of the people who were getting gas at the time.

Witnesses say so many shots were fired, they thought it was fireworks at first.

Morales' son gave him CPR until paramedics arrived.

But, Morales died on his way to the hospital.

Police say they have clear surveillance video of what happened.

No arrests have been made.
