CHICAGO -- Some Cook County jail inmates will soon be released thanks to a new bond program.

Under the program, non-violent offenders who can't afford to pay the county $1000 dollars or less, will remain free until their cases are resolved.

The move comes after Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart singled dozens of cases, where inmates were locked up for months because of their inability to post low bonds.
