THORNTON, Colo. -- A 26-year-old Colorado woman was arrested for felony child abuse after her 2-year-old son was found alone in a vehicle outside overnight.

Nicole Carmon was scheduled to appear in court Monday.

Employees at a shopping plaza noticed the car parked overnight at 9 a.m. Saturday. Several inches of snow covered the 2013 green Ford Fusion so no one could see there was a child inside.

When police arrived on the scene, they discovered the boy suffering from frostbite and hypothermia. His condition is not known.

Investigators believe he was in the freezing car for at least 7 hours.
