CHICAGO - For those who've enjoyed watching NBA broadcasts for the last generation, Thursday was for mourning.
Craig Sager, the charismatic sideline reporter, lost his two-year battle with Leukemia on Thursday at the age of 65. The Batavia native made an impression with his wacky suits, positive demeanor, and ability to relate to the athletes he covered on a daily basis.
His impact could be seen on Thursday as thousands took to social media to pay tribute to Sager.
In fact, Social Fodder on Sports Feed was devoted completely to tributes to the sideline reporter. That segment with Jarrett Payton and Josh Frydman is part of the #FeedonThis for Thursday show and you can watch it in the video above.
If you're going to the Bears game on Sunday, bring you hat, gloves and boots.
In fact, maybe bring two of each.
Temperatures are expected to hover around zero at kickoff at Soldier Field between the Bears and the Packers. Each team and player is going about their own way to stay warm on a historically cold afternoon on the lakefront.
