Dangerous wind chill, blowing snow part of Winter Weather Advisory

CHICAGO -- Dangerous cold has settled in to the Chicago area.

Several area schools have announced they will be closed Thursday.  (You can see the full list here)

A Wind Chill Advisory is in effect through 10 a.m.  Wind chill values have the potential to reach 15 below to 30 below.

You can also expect blowing snow that could reduce visibility.

Frost bite and hypothermia are concerns with this type of weather.

The extreme cold made work and life in general difficult for many in Chicago.  WGN's Julian Crews spoke with local firefighters and residents who are enduring the arctic blast.
