Worker wounded during shooting on South Side construction site

CHICAGO --  Chicago police are investigating after a worker was shot on a construction site on the South Side this afternoon.

Gunfire broke out at a construction site at 77th and Union in the Gresham neighborhood around 3:30 p..m.

A 32-year-old contract utility worker was shot twice  in the leg.

He was taken to Christ Hospital in serious condition.

A man who knows him tells WGN News he doesn't know why anyone would have targeted him.
