CHICAGO — Slick roads over the weekend caused a crash that critically injured a woman in Roscoe Village.

A man was driving Sunday morning near Western and Roscoe when he tried to stop at a red light.

Police said that’s when his car skidded into the intersection.

He tried to back up out of the intersection, and he struck a 62-year-old woman as she was crossing the street.

She was taken to Illinois Masonic in critical condition.

The driver stayed on the scene and authorities are investigating.
