CHICAGO -- WGN’s Lourdes Duarte and Dan Ponce hosted the annual “McDonald’s Thanksgiving Parade” Thursday, November 24 live on Chicago’s Very Own WGN-TV, nationally on the WGN America cable network and worldwide on WGNTV.com. WGN’s Amy Rutledge reported street-side.

Chicago’s 83rd annual holiday parade kicked off the 2016 holiday season on historic State Street with high-stepping equestrians, fabulous floats, actor/comedian Matt Walsh as grand marshal, singer Craig Campbell, comedian Sebastian Maniscalo, chef Graham Elliot, actor Yuri Sardarov, actor Dante Brown, actress Emma Kenney, the Harlem Globetrotters and Santa Claus.

WGN goodwill ambassador and Chicago favorite, Bozo, presided over the WGN-TV float along with Tom Skilling, Dean Richards, Cortney Hall, Nancy Loo, Sean Lewis and Paul Lisnek.

WGN first televised the parade in 1966 when it was called the “State Street Christmas Parade.”
