DALLAS – On Saturday the Blackhawks made some roster moves that said hello to one and goodbye to another for at least a bit.

Before their game with the Dallas Stars this evening on the road the Blackhawks activated forward Andrew Desjardins from the Injured Reserve. At the same time they are putting defenseman Trevor van Riemsdyk on that same list.

Desjardins has not played in a regular season game this year after injuring his left foot trying to block a shot in the final preseason game back on October 8th. Over the past few weeks he has returned to practice but hadn’t played in a game.

Meanwhile van Riemsdyk has been out since October 22nd after injuring his right shoulder/arm in a collision against the Columbus Blue Jackets the day before. Per NHL rules of the Injured Reserve list, van Riemsdyk cannot return to the Blackhawks’ active roster for at least 7 days.
