CHICAGO — The Chicago Cubs made history Wednesday night after beating the Cleveland Indians in Game 7 of the 2016 World Series — ending the 108-year championship drought.

At the bottom of the 10th with two outs, Cubs fans stood outside Wrigley Field full of anxiety hoping to see the words “CUBS WIN” flash across the marquee.

Then it happened — Cleveland’s Michael Martinez hit a grounder to Kris Bryant, who excitedly flipped the ball to Anthony Rizzo. Seconds later, Cubs fans saw the words they’ve been waiting so long for: “CUBS WIN!”
