9 drug overdose deaths in 8 days reported in Lake County, Indiana

LAKE COUNTY, Ind. — Nine drug overdose deaths have been investigated during the past eight days in Lake County, Ind.

The coroner says six of those deaths are related to heroin.

The coroner and Lake County Sheriff have teamed-up regarding this national epidemic.

Uniformed patrol officers and about 90 percent of all other sheriff officers are prepared to respond to an opioid-heroin overdose with Narcan.
