Funeral services held for radio icon Herb Kent

CHICAGO -- Hundreds gathered for the funeral of legendary radio personality Herb Kent Saturday morning.

Kent, whose nickname was "the Cool Gent" worked in Chicago radio for more than 70 years.

He died last weekend, hours after hosting his show on V-103.

Family, friends and colleagues were joined by politicians who paid their final respects to Kent at the House of Hope Arena. Gov. Rauner was among them, and President Obama sent a statement that was read during the service.

Kent was 88 years old.
