CHICAGO -- A vigil was held tonight for a South Side man  found stabbed to death over the weekend.

Neighbors found the body of 62-year-old Gene Williams Saturday night in his apartment.

Williams seemed to be well-loved by everyone in the building on the 3600 block of South Lake Park where he’d lived for 30 years

Investigators say he suffered head trauma, stab wounds to the stomach and was strangled.

His neighbors are remembering  him as someone who was always willing to help out.

Police have yet to make an arrest.
