YORKVILLE, Ill. -- From the very beginnings of Mike and Amanda Click’s relationship, the Cubs played a role.

The far west suburban couple made the trek to Wrigley Field last year to catch an all important NLCS game just before their baby boy was born.

And just couple of weeks after the Cubs playoff hopes were cut short, Murphy James Click came into the picture in December of 2015.

That’s right: Murphy - named after the famed goat behind the Cubs curse.

Murphy comes from a long line of Cubs fans.  His father Mike grew up a Cubs fans.  His mother Amanda’s grandparents honeymooned at Wrigley.

Murphy’s name also has some family ties and satisfies Amanda’s love for another Chicago sports legend.

“Murphy James,” she says. “His initials are obviously MJ and obviously MJ is the G.O.A.T - the greatest of all time.”

Murphy hasn’t made it to Wrigley since before his birthday, but he and his already sleep deprived parents have seen every second on TV.  They hope to catch an NLCS game at the ballpark and maybe even a World Series game.

And if by chance the Cubbies take that title?

“I will take full responsibility,” says Mike.  “We brought the “Curse Breaker” into the world … in my head.”
