CHICAGO -- Democratic elected officials and candidates gathered at Trump Tower in downtown Chicago to slam the Republican presidential candidate and urge supporters to vote.
The Democrats got straight to the point calling out Donald Trump for his lewd comments about women and the published reports featuring women who say they were sexual assaulted by Trump.
Trump denies the allegations.
The Democrats proudly boasted that Trump’s honorary “Trump Plaza” sign outside his building is gone.
Last week, the mayor and alderman moved to take it down. It was first put up on the street 10 years ago back when the 98-story tower was still under construction.
Mayor Rahm Emanuel was among the politicians on hand.
“Donald Trump does not have the character or the judgment for the Oval Office,” he said. “And Hillary Clinton has the experience, the judgment, the background and the ability to ask the questions necessary to make the tough calls that come. “
Candidate for congress Raja Krishnamoorithi, candidate for Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx and Rep. Jan Schakowsky were also in attendance.
Today’s rally comes on the same day WikiLeaks published a hacked Clinton campaign e-mail showing the campaign tried to move the Illinois presidential primary to a later date promising Clinton and her husband “won’t forget” a political favor.
