Some implanted heart devices are being recalled because their batteries may become depleted too soon.

St. Jude Medical is recalling some of its 400,000 devices after two deaths in Europe were linked to premature battery depletion.

The devices are called ICDs and CRTDs. They’re used to shock dangerously racing heartbeats back to their normal rhythm or to treat heart failure.
