CHICAGO — As the playoffs draw closer, more and more people believe that 2016 will finally be the year for the Cubs to win the World Series.

On Tuesday, Sports Illustrated joined that group.

The magazine announced its pick by releasing the cover of this week’s magazine on their Twitter account. Inside, they pick the Cubs to win their first World Series since the 1908 season.

The Cubs are once again featured on the regional cover of Sports Illustrated. To add some creativity to the cover, Sports Illustrated based its design on the “Sporting Life” magazine from 108 years ago that saluted the Cubs for winning the World Series.

Since the beginning of the season, the Cubs have been on the cover of the issue a few times, including the season preview issue and a May edition following the Cubs hot start to the season. Maddon’s team begins play in the National League Division Series on Friday at Wrigley Field against the winner of the Mets-Giants Wild Card game Wednesday night.
