Two children involved in an Amber Alert in Indiana have been found dead.

Fort Wayne police issued an Amber Alert Monday for 7-year-old Liliana Hernandez and 6-year-old Rene Pasztor.  The Allen County Sheriff believed the children were likely abducted by their non-custodial mother 29-year-old Amber Pasztor.  That alert was cancelled Monday evening.

Allen County Sheriff’s Department issued a statement saying an officer leaving the department was stopped around 5:30 by a woman who was driving a vehicle that matched the description of the vehicle in the Amber Alert.

The woman told the officer there were “two deceased subjects inside.”

The officer discovered two “deceased juveniles” in the backseat.

The woman driver has been identified as Amber Pasztor.

“At this time the two juveniles located inside the vehicle are believed to be Liliana Hernandez and Rene Pasztor,” police said in a statement.
Authorities are awaiting formal identification by the coroner’s office.

“Further investigation is underway to better understand the circumstances surrounding the children’s death," police said in the statement.
