OAK LAWN, Ill. -- Oak Lawn police are working with the Chicago police department to find the person who robbed two people yesterday in broad daylight.

Two different homes were hit in Oak Lawn, one in 4100 block of 93rd Street, the other the 9600 block of Kildare.

The incidents happened yesterday between 2:20 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.

One victim is an elderly man, the other a woman.

Police are calling it a home invasion. They say the offender followed both victims into their garage, pulled out a black handgun and demanded valuables.

In both instances jewelry was stolen.

Oak Lawn Police released a composite sketch of the suspect. They are looking for a black male, approximately 25-35 years old, 5’10 and 170-180 pounds. He is missing front teeth. He was wearing blue jeans and a black t-shirt with writing on it.

The suspect fled in a dark red large SUV.

“We think Chicago might have had a similar case,” said Randy Palmer, of the Oak Lawn Police. “We’ve been working with Chicago detectives to try to track and see if it’s the same individuals.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the Oak Lawn Police and ask for the detectives division.
