Body of missing woman found in shallow grave; Man charged

STANDARD, Illinois -- A man has been charged in the death of a missing woman’s whose body was found in a shallow grave in Standard, Illinois.

66-year-old Clifford Anderson has been charged in the concealment of the death of 62-year-old Deborah Dewey.  Anderson has not been charged with homicide.

Dewey, from Ladd, Illinois, disappeared on August 22nd.

She was off work that day and had been running errands.

Her car was found one week later abandoned at a truck stop near Route 47 and I-80.

Wednesday, Illinois State Police announced her body had been found two days ago in a shallow grave in the backyard of a vacant home in nearby Standard, Illinois.

Police arrested and charged Anderson with concealment of a death.

Authorities won't say if Dewey and Anderson knew each other or if more charges are forthcoming.
