Bella the Pomeranian

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – A man and woman suspected of stealing a puppy from a suburban pet store are in custody. The puppy is still missing.

Police say the 11-week-old Pomeranian puppy was stolen from the store Petland in Naperville on Monday.

Surveillance video of the store lead to the identification of the couple. They were apprehended. They told police they “got nervous and dumped the puppy in someone’s backyard in Aurora.”

The gate of the yard reportedly was not closed properly and Bella escaped and is still missing.

The puppy was implanted with a microchip, which is registered to the store.

Bella is a very young puppy and she has a vaccination schedule that needs to be maintained.
