NORTHBROOK — An Amtrak train fatally struck a pedestrian Thursday afternoon near the Northbrook train stop.

Metra Milwaukee District North trains were initially halted in both directions, but are now moving through the area on Track #2.

The Fire Department and rescue workers responding to the accident at the station near Shermer Rd. and Meadow also checked for any injuries on the train.

Metra says riders should still expect delays, as trains are moving at restricted speeds as they pass through Northbrook. For the most up-to-date information, visit Metra’s website.
