BEULAH, Mich. -- A dog swam more than six miles and likely walked a dozen more to find its family after falling overboard into Lake Michigan during the weekend.

The dog's owners were boating on the lake when their 10-month old Belgian Malinois, Rylee, fell overboard.

The couple immediately sent out a mayday call on the radio and was connected to a group that searches for lost dogs.

After a photo of Rylee was shared on Facebook, she was spotted by a local boater and scooped up within a few hours at a nearby campground.

She's since been reunited with her family.

A $5,000 reward was offered for any information regarding Rylee.
