CHICAGO — The Cook County Clerk’s Office is celebrating a major milestone today — the 10,000th same-sex marriage license.

Anthony Aranda and Terry Beauchamp were surprised when they arrived at the clerk’s office today.

The Edgewater couple had not heard about the countdown, or gifts awaiting the 10,000th couple.

They’ve been together for 19-years and needed the license because their wedding reception is already planned for later this month.

The newlyweds received a cake, flowers, several gift certificates and a trip to Las Vegas.
