CHICAGO -- Family of Nykea Aldridge gathered outside for a vigil Sunday at New Creation Church, the church where Bulls player Dwyane Wade's mother is a pastor.

Wade himself was not at the vigil.

Mourners released purple balloons during the vigil -- Aldridge's favorite color -- and talked about her love of fashion, writing, and her four children -- the youngest which was just born on Aug. 1.

That was the baby Aldridge was pushing in a stroller Friday afternoon near her home at 63rd and South Calumet when the shooting happened.

Aldridge's family says she was walking with the baby's father to register her three older children for school at nearby Dulles Elementary when she was caught in what police called gang crossfire.

The family set up a trust fund for Aldridge's four children at the Seaway National Bank on East 87th Street in Chicago, which is accepting donations.
