The ‘W’ stands for women—the ones YWCA activates through support and programming throughout Chicagoland. Removing the ‘W’ emphasizes that all of our lives would change without the presence of women; without the women of Chicago, we cannot reach our fullest potential. We know that when women don’t receive equal pay or when women aren’t given the opportunities that they deserve, the city suffers.
