Suspect on loose after home invasion, stabbing in Richton Park

RICHTON PARK, Ill. -- Police in south suburban Richton Park are looking for a suspect who broke into an apartment and stabbed a man this morning.

The violent home invasion happened at 5 a.m. on Wednesday.

Police say someone broke into a first floor apartment in the Park Towers complex in Richton park. A male occupant of the home was stabbed several times after he confronted the male intruder, who then fled the scene. Investigators canvassed the area with a search dog.

The attacker tonight is still on the loose.

Richton Park police continue to investigate and are asking for help from the public.
