SOUTH BEND - Standing at the podium in front of dozens of media members on Wednesday afternoon, Brian Kelly was immediately quizzed about the most important position on his team.

Who will be Notre Dame's quarterback in 2016?

In a suprise move, the coach decided to go down the middle with his decision.

Instead of DeShone Kizer or senior Malik Zaire to start at quarterback, Kelly announced that he will use both in the Irish's opener against Texas in Austin on Sunday, September 4th.

While he wouldn't commit to doing so for the rest of the season, the dual quarterback rotation will be in place for the match-up with the Longhorns for sure.
