Kevin Bacon addresses rumors that he wants to play Freddy Krueger

CHICAGO -- The Internet is buzzing that actor Kevin Bacon is interested in playing Freddy Krueger in a remake of "Nightmare on Elm Street." Lucky for us, he stopped by WGN Morning News Wednesday to explain how the rumors started.

"It's Internet crazy, really," Bacon said, explaining that the topic first came up in a fan's tweet. The fan @bettietoxic said Bacon would be "fantastic" as Freddy.

On Twitter, Bacon shared the tweet and said "I like the way you think Bettie."

So while there is no movie actually in the works, Bacon said still expressed interest in the role.

"I'm not opposed to it though, I don't know, I'll do anything," he said.
