10-year-old helps upgrade his school’s playground for children of all abilities

CHICAGO — A mother and son were on a mission to upgrade their school’s playground to accommodate students with disabilities. It is a project years in the making, finally read to make its debut.

Owen’s Playground Grand Opening will be on Aug. 17, at Hillcrest Elementary, 1435 Jefferson Ave, Downers Grove at 6 p.m.
