Crusoe the Celebrity Dachshund underwent emergency surgery earlier this month.

Crusoe is the star of the New York Times Bestselling book, “Adventures of the Wiener Dog Extraordinaire Crusoe: The Celebrity Dachshund” and has over 1.1 million fans on Facebook.

A veterinarian had to remove a ruptured disc that was pushing on his spinal cord.

Dog experts say intervertebral disc disease is a common issue for Crusoe’s breed.

Crusoe is now recovering at home by doing physical therapy.

He sends thanks to his fans for their support.
