Police release surveillance photos of man wanted for Green Line armed robbery

CHICAGO — Chicago police say they are searching for a man wanted in an armed robbery on the CTA Green Line.

According to police, the robbery took place shortly after 4 a.m. Aug. 1 on a Green Line train. The man allegedly sat next to his victim, pointed a handgun at him and demanded the victim’s phone. Police say the victim gave the man his phone, and the robber fled from the train at the 63rd Street platform.

Police described the offender as an African American man, 20-26 years old, 5 feet 7 inches and 165 pounds. Area Central detectives released surveillance photos of the man on Sunday.

Police ask anyone who may know the man in the photos above to call 911.
