Chicago’s Clear Ridge baseball team wins Senior League World Series

BANGOR, Maine — The Clear Ridge baseball team from Chicago has won the Senior League Baseball World Series.

Clear Ridge defeated the team from Australia 7-2 Saturday afternoon in Bangor, Maine, to capture the title.

The Clear Ridge team represents the Central Region of the U.S in the series. The squad is based out of the city’s Garfield Ridge neighborhood.

Twenty-two young men from the Southwest Side make up the team’s roster. About half of them have been playing together in the area since about 7 years old. Now they are 13-17 years old.

The team was a perfect 16-0 in its regular season.
