MATTESON, Ill. – A home invasion, a robbery and a barricade situation all within a few blocks of each other in the south suburbs ended with four people in custody this afternoon.

Police in Matteson responded to a call of an armed robbery in the 21200 block Maple St around 10:30 Tuesday morning.

Four suspects allegedly entered the home of three people who they knew and demanded money at gunpoint.  The suspects took cash and a cell phone and left.

Police tracked the suspects two blocks away to a home in the 3600 block of 211th Place.

Initially the suspects refused to come out and negotiations begin. SWAT teams and armored vehicles were part of the response.

After a few hours, the offenders voluntarily surrendered and taken into custody without incident, police say.

No one was injured.

A local daycare was placed on lockdown for safety purposes.

Police determined there is no danger to the public.

The investigation continues.
