Flooded roads, stranded cars dot parts of Northeast and Mid-Atlantic

Flash flood warnings were issued overnight for parts of the East Coast.

The National Weather Service warned residents in and around the Baltimore area to “move to higher ground”.  Many roads have been closed.

Neighboring Howard County, Md., issued a state of emergency late last night due to intense flooding.

In New Jersey, West Windsor Township has declared a state of emergency as flooding in and around Princeton University closed roads and stranded cars.

Up to five inches of rain fell in the area yesterday afternoon and flash flood warnings were issued last night.
