‘Swim Across America’ hits Ohio Street Beach to raise money for cancer research

CHICAGO -- Olympians, cancer survivors and dozens of others hopped into Lake Michigan Saturday morning to take a swim for cancer research.

Swimmers had the choice of going from a half-mile to three-miles at Chicago's Ohio Street Beach.

The nonprofit Swim Across America has given more than $1-million to Rush University Medical Center for early stage cancer research.

The event has raised more than $60-million nationwide.
