CHICAGO --  A 6-year-old girl is back home with her family after she was shot last week in the stomach as gangs exchanged gun fire on her Englewood block.

Tacarra Morgan was with her family on her front porch near 60th and Paulina last Tuesday, when a white SUV and two other vehicles passed by and someone in the SUV fired shots at a group of people on the sidewalk.

Tacarra was taken to the hospital and underwent surgery.

She was welcomed home tonight with gifts, some donated from perfect strangers and many from her neighbors, who never stopped praying for her.

“My daughter was just blessed,” said Tacarra’s mother Carolyn Morris. “My daughter is a miracle.”

No arrests have been made in the shooting.
