CHICAGO -- Severe weather is likely to blame for the disruption to service on several CTA trains Sunday night.
Trains were halted on the Blue Line after the canopy of the Illinois Medical District station partially collapsed and fell onto the tracks.
CTA spokesman says the platform did not collapse, but was damaged.
The CTA is investigating the possibility that the damage was caused by weather.
Normal service has resumed on the Blue Line Monday morning.
The Chicago Fire Dept responded about 7 p.m. to lightning striking an overpass at 430 S. Damen Ave., which caused damage.
No injuries were reported.
Service on the Red Line and Brown Line were also disrupted Sunday night due to debris on the tracks.
Check the CTA website for the latest in delays and service updates.
