CHICAGO — Another day of long lines for Southwest Airlines customers at Chicago’s Midway Airport and nationwide.
Although the airline’s systems have been fully restored, Southwest continued to experience delays and “lingering disruptions” Friday morning due to a computer glitch that happened Wednesday.
As of 6 a.m., Southwest has canceled more than 250 flights for today — primarily as a result of displaced flight crews.

Southwest has issued this apology:
“We extend a heartfelt apology to our Employees and our Customers who are inconvenienced by the disruption in service. We appreciate their patience as we continue our work to make this right.”
Southwest has extended flexible travel accommodations for customers who are holding booked travel Wednesday, July 20 through Tuesday, July 26. These Customers have two weeks from their original date of departure to rebook travel at the original fare, at no additional cost.
