Inmate captured after escaping Cook County courthouse

ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill. — Police in the suburbs have captured an inmate who escaped a Cook County courthouse this afternoon.

25-year-old Jonathan Scott escaped from the Cook County courthouse in Rolling Meadows.

The sheriff’s office reports Scott was captured near Arlington Heights.

Authorities from several suburbs responded.

Police say Scott was arrested at a motel in Elk Grove Village yesterday

He was arrested for possession of controlled substance.

Today was his initial court appearance.
