DALLAS — A recent video shows a man’s near-death experience while riding a water slide near a rocky cliff.

Facebook user David Salmon uploaded a video Monday of him riding the slide, which appeared to be on a private residence. The footage shows Salmon flying off at one of the turns and falling toward some rocks below.

Salmon wrote that he suffered fractured ribs, a broken arm, and multiple lacerations on his back, arms and sides.

“Too dang old to be going down water slides,” Salmon wrote.

Salmon said it was his first time riding in an ambulance. Thankfully, he says, he won’t require surgery.

Salmon’s Facebook page says he is from Dallas. According to his post, he is recovering at an Austin hotel.

His video has received roughly 116,000 views and nearly 1,000 shares since Monday.

Commenters rushed to his page to offer their support.

“Hope you’re on the mend quickly – take care of yourself!” wrote one.

Wrote another, “Super glad it wasn’t worse, David. So sorry you had to endure such a frightening accident. Hope you have a speedy recovery.”

Some even shared edited versions of the video featuring a soundtrack.
